Formula 16 PR committee formed
Thursday, 10 January 2008

We, the F16 GC are pleased that, after asking for help, there were people who want to help and put their shoulders under the F16 class. This means that the F16 PR committee is now formed and that the F16 class will be spreading the news of its existence around the world.

We think it is a good idea to have an international member committee so we can reach the most people possible all around the world.

The idea of the PR committee is to give more publicity to the F16 class in magazines, news papers, internet etc .  We think that by using a PR committee we will achieve the maximum result with the best possible input from the members.

The following people have accepted appointment to the PR committee

Rolf Nilsen (Norway)

Gill de Bruyne (Belgium)

Kathleen Vandenbulcke (Belgium)

Gary Maskiell (Australia)

Mark Presdee (Great Britain)

Unfortunately we are missing somebody from the United States but if somebody wants to be part of this committee please contact me, all the help is welcomed.

With friendly regards,

Hans Klok

Chairman F16 Governing Council

2007 Alter Cup sailed on Blade F16s
Sunday, 29 April 2007

Alter Cup Blades
Alter Cup Blades
John Casey and John Williams have won the 2007 Hobie Alter Cup.  The event was sailed on 10 brand new Blade F16s supplied by Vectorworks Sail.  This year's event was hosted by Melbourne Yacht Club in Melbourne, Florida.  The Alter Cup is the US Sailing Mulitihull Championship, and is sailed each year on a different boat.  The event puts sailors on identical equipment, and teams swap boats between races.  The Blades performed impressively throughout the event, allowing all team weights to do well.  Results, reports and photos can be found on the US Sailing website.

Most of the competition boats have now been sold, providing a boost the fast-growing US F16 class. The boats sport new high aspect ratio daggerboards, designed by Catamaranparts.

The formal organization of the U.S. F16 Class Association has been completed. The inaugural membership has ratified an operating constitution.
